Need chicken food? Never fear, Wally Pets is here

Posted by Marina on March 16th, 2010

WallyPetsWhen pet supplies store Four Legs Good closed down last month, a My Wallingford reader lamented the departure of Wallingford’s only source of chicken food, a serious issue in an area so enamored of its backyard fowl.

Well, local chickens — and their owners — soon will be able to cluck contentedly. The store’s successor, dubbed Wally Pets, opened yesterday, and owner Cheryl Martin told us that the store will carry chicken food, though they don’t yet have it.

Martin, who worked at Four Legs Good, also mentioned that her store will have more toys and fun pet stuff than its predecessor and that if you wear green to Wally Pets on St. Patrick’s Day, you’ll get a 10% discount.

Just don't be dirt bags like my neighbors, and keep your chickens on your property. Maybe fence them in, a concept my selfish neighbors don't get....

You can get bags of chicken/layer feed at the Mud Bay just off of 85th & Greenwood. They also have oyster shell & grit! It's not organic, which is what I'm really looking to buy closer to home!
