Seattle is home to a whole lot of backyard fowl, and you can see examples of their digs (and decide whether you’d like some feathered livestock yourself) at Seattle Tilth’s annual City Chicken Coop Tour.

Tickets are on sale now for the July 10 self-guided tour of 27 poultry palaces and humbler homes throughout the city. If you would like to stay close in or near the neighborhood, there will be five Wallingford coops on the tour, four in northeast Seattle, and three west of Green Lake.

Here’s more information from Seattle Tilth:

Learn from seeing what your neighbors are doing. Ask questions about building coops and shelters, daily chores and other questions you have about keeping chickens or urban livestock. This tour might be the inspiration for you to build your dream coop or begin a fun and rewarding new hobby! You will enjoy seeing the many creative arrangements people have developed in their urban yards and “urban homesteads.”

What: Seattle Tilth’s City Chicken Coop Tour
When: Saturday, July 10 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: At various locations all over Seattle
Cost: $25 for Seattle Tilth members, $30 for non-members. Each ticket allows a family or 4 individuals to participate.

  1. Please, please come by and tour my neighbor’s filthy chicken coop. They rarely clean it and it’s inches from my property line. Fun!

  2. Hiya, excellent day. You've acquired a unique supporter. Make sure you keep on the great hard work popping up and I hunt into the future to much more of your tremendous content. Get a lovely moment!
