One of Wallingford’s signature events happens tomorrow, July 10 — the 61st Annual Wallingford Seafair Kiddies Parade and Street Fair Festival. Spend the morning watching the parade or participate yourself if you have a child who wants to march. Paraders include kids from neighborhood schools, an assortment of Wallingford organizations, drill teams and marching bands from all over the city, and the Seafair clowns.

The street fair, on Wallingford Ave. between N. 45th and N. 43rd, will feature bouncy houses, pony rides, balloon artists, and face painters for the kids. Pick up lunch or a snack (the Via Tribunali  mobile pizza oven, Mighty-O Donuts, Whidbey Island Ice Cream and many others will serve up food). There will also be a music stage where four bands will perform over the course of the day.

Neighborhood Office director Janet Stillman, who runs this big event, shared some information encourages all Wallingfordians to visit the Street Fair: “The Street Fair supports the Kiddies Parade and many other events in Wallingford. We have more than 40 vendors and we strongly urge you to stop by and shop to support them. Think LOCAL this weekend!”

The Street Fair runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the parade begins at 11:00 and lasts about an hour.

Feeling giddy about Wallingford and want to show your pride? Stillman said she’s gotten a new order of Wallingford t-shirts and track jackets. The t-shirts are in two new colors: navy blue with white lettering and heather gray with red lettering.

My Wallingford is a sponsor of this year’s Kiddies Parade and will have a booth at the Street Fair. Come by for a fun kids’ game and say hi!
