The 34th Pathway of Lights, the annual luminary lighting of the path around Green Lake, will be this Saturday (Dec. 11, 2010), 4:30 – 7:30 p.m., rain or shine.
The “walk of lights” is lit up by luminarias that line Green Lake’s pathway. Walkers are encouraged to bring their own lights and candles to add to the ambiance.
Local musicians will perform at four sites around the lake: the Green Lake Community Center on the east side, the Green Lake Small Craft Center (the Aqua Theater) on the south side, the Bathhouse Theater (Seattle Public Theater) on the north side and The Arch on the east of side of the community center/pool. Warm drinks and treats will be available at those locations, as will donation bins for non-perishable food items for Northwest Harvest.
The music at the community center will be provided by Green Lake United Methodist Church, as well as members of Sustainable Wallingford, who will be singing “Green Carols.” The Phinney Neighborhood Chorus will be singing at the Aqua Theater.
There will be an open house at Windermere Green Lake (7300 East Green Lake Dr N) during the event. Creole soul food from Where Ya At Matt will be available.
a few inches of rain are in the forecast for saturday evening. not sure this is going to work well with open candles in little bags.
