Stone Way pit work under way

Posted by Marina on March 7th, 2011

We can’t remember a more welcome construction site (or sight) in Wallingford:

The long-empty lot at N. 40th and Stone Way will become Stone Way Village, a mixed-use project that will include 154 housing units and some retail. You can find lots more information in a story we ran in January.

Oh yes, I feel better about everything now that this hole is being filled. Wouldn't be this wonderful economy holding things up would it? As in a Welcome back Carter economy. Gotta love those risk takers out there though. Pioneers always take the arrows

Finally! Great news, it seems like that Safeway closed about 12 years ago, sat vacant for a few years, then we were staring at that hole for years.

Now, if we can just get the Greenlake hole filled in...

Yay! That's one less empty lot I'll have to walk past!
