Sara Beth Russert from Tangletown’s Mighty-O Donuts (2110 N. 55th St.) rose to the top in the “Food Network Challenge: Donut Champions” and took home $10,000. The show aired last night but was filmed last November.
In the two-round episode Russert won over the judges with the French Toast Donut and her showpiece: an elephant fashioned from donuts (and dubbed Mini the Mighty El-O-phant). See the elephant on display at Mighty-O beginning today or in this show preview:
Russert competed against donut makers from The Hole (Denver, CO), Blue Collar Joe’s (Daleville, VA), and Seattle’s own Top Pot Doughnuts.
You’re invited to celebrate the win for Mighty-O at a viewing party at Mighty-O Donuts on Wednesday, April 27, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Guests are invited to watch the show with Mighty-O and enjoy free donuts and coffee.
