Update: Brian Gilbert let us know Sunday night that the bike owner got his wheels back: “The purchaser learned of the error and called the owner. The owner was so thankful to live in such a thoughtful community!”
Yesterday was the Wallingford Yard Sale Tour for John Stanford International School. We got a note this morning from a participant who shared good and bad news:
Thanks to all our Wallingford neighbors and beyond who came out to support John Stanford International School PTSA’s annual Wallingford Yard Sale Tour this past Saturday. We raised close to $5000 despite the weather! All the yard sale host families enjoyed spending time chatting with neighbors and the community feel of this annual event. There were great deals to be found by all.
We have one request from that we need your help with. A bargain hunter (and hopefully My Wallingford reader) got one great deal that turned out too good to be true.
In the frenzy of the yard sale on Saturday and people continuously dropping off more goods throughout the morning, someone left their bike unattended and unlocked right next to the other bikes and strollers for sale, and you guessed it – it regrettably was sold. Please help us do the right thing by helping us return the bike to its rightful owner and we’ll refund what was paid. The bike was a Men’s dark green Shimano road bike.
