Fair Trade Winds opens in Wallingford Center

Posted by meghanwalker on October 27th, 2011

Fair Trade Winds, a housewares and gifts store, just opened in the Wallingford Center. Emily Lynn, whose family owns Fair Trade Winds, tells us Saturday will be the store’s grand opening.

From Lynn:

On Saturday, Oct. 29 from 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., the store will celebrate its Grand Opening and Fair Trade Month with free samples of local fair trade edibles from Theo Chocolate, Equal Exchange coffee, Choice Organic Tea, and more. Customers will also be able to start their wish lists in the store, to share with friends and family for holiday gift-giving.
“We are excited to bring unique, high-quality, Fair Trade products to Seattle, and pleased to be part of the  family of businesses at Wallingford Center,” said Paul Culler, founder and owner. Culler also owns three  other Fair Trade Winds stores on the east coast—in Bar Harbor, ME, Stony Brook, NY, and Fairfax VA.  “Because we are a small, family-run store, we make an effort to offer handcrafted goods made by smaller artisan cooperatives from all corners of the globe, and provide them with retail space to shine.”
The store’s hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
