This Thursday is beginning of the annual Christmas Ship Festival put on by Argosy Cruises in Lake Union. The parade of brightly lit boats will be floating by Gasworks Park at 8 p.m.

Here’s a video of the festival from a previous year.

The Christmas Ship will be out each night until December 23, and will sail to 45 different Puget Sound waterfronts. The ships will have a choir onboard who sings a 20 minute performance to each waterfront.

Thursday’s event starts at Kirkland Marina Park with the opening ceremony at 6:30 p.m. According to the Argosy website, “In addition to good cheer, family, and friends, a portion of all ticket sales benefits The Seattle Times Fund For The Needy, an annual program that raises money for several charitable organizations in the Puget Sound area.”
