LA BOULANGERIE: CLOSING JANUARY 31ST

La Boulangerie, owned and operated by Vietnam native Xon, will be closing its doors for good on January 31st. After 33 years, Xon was notified that his lease would not be renewed.

It is no secret that the bakery had been falling on some hard times over the years –one only needs to look at the Yelp reviews. With only Xon manning the bakery, the quality of the bread was not always up to par. Regulars knew to check on the freshness of bread as sometimes stale bread could be purchased. However, if you talk to any of these regulars, they will tell you that Xon was friendly, great to talk to and a valued member of the Wallingford Community. There are also many very positive reviews! Many people swore by his croissants and sweets. It just seems that working alone, six days a week had caught up to him. He has spent his whole life learning the art of French Baking and it is sad to say good-bye to such a dedicated business owner.

Seamonster Lounge will be taking over the space to increase their stage size, which they really could use.

We hope that there is still some delicious bread making in store for Xon as he moves on. In the meantime ,we look forward to enjoying some music while being surrounded with the good vibes that La Boulangerie and Xon are leaving behind.
