Our sister site My Green Lake brings us this story.

Tangletown resident Jeff Rodenburg asked us to share the news that he will once again be decking out his home with a Christmas light display.

You will be able to find the display on NE 57th St., just east of Latona Ave NE.

Weather pending, the lights will be turned on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010 and will be on every night through New Year’s Day, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.  A musical light show will play every 30 minutes, starting at 5:30 p.m.  It will be broadcast over 102.1 FM.

“It’s a pretty good size light display,” Jeff initially told us.

I’d say so.  This year, Jeff plans to plug in over 30,000 lights.

Jeff, a software developer, is a self-described “holiday lighting enthusiast.”  This will be the 9th year he has lit up his home.  Each year, he says, the display has improved.  “Yes, it has grown in size,” he says, “but it’s not about quantity. My goal around our display has been to maintain a simple design that fits well with our house, yard and neighborhood.”

Why does Jeff do it?  “I like the technical side of it,” he explains.  “I enjoy figuring out lighting plans and being creative with decorations and music synchronization, because I’m a geek at heart.  But, mostly I do it to see the expressions on the faces of neighbors and friends who stop by, especially the little kids.”

You can read more about Jeff’s light display on his brand-new website, greenlakechristmas.com, and you can find him on twitter at @greenlakexmas.
